My wife and I have owned a company for 7 years. It isn't a stay at home business but we are in the process of reestablishing it to resemble more of a stay at home business. 11 years ago before I owned my own organization (a stay at home business was the furthest action from my mind) I used to work at the corporate office for the Bank of New York; at the time I was accomplishing some masters education and certifications on nutrition and fitness. I was making $150.00 a day which at the time was perfect money for me. I used to consult 5 days a week and some times we had to consult a half day on Saturdays. I was in the everyday corporate situation; I spent most of my time at work and had very little time for myself.

As I commenced to get certifications in nutrition I commenced take on wellness clients at the bank and I used to have consultations with them at lunch. I charged my first client $50.00 for our meeting together. I generated $50 in 45 minutes and at that minute a light bulb went off in my brain. I just had made 1/3 of my days salary in 45 minutes. I knew at that moment that I could no longer work for somebody else. My days at the bank were numbered. A stay at home business was not at the top of my mind but I knew I wanted to be in business for me.

Fast forward 11 years later today; I still make $150.00 dollars but I do not generate it a day I now make it an hour. What took me a full 10 hours (2 hours of commute time) to acquire in a day I now bring in in an hour or less. This is the reason I knew that I could not work for someone and this is why I can not go back. You can not get rich working for somebody else. Abundance is having more money than you need and the TIME to enjoy life and use it.

We have been in business for 7 years full time and as much as I love it, it has its draw backs. The power to create a lot of money really fast is definitely a huge perk. Being able to establish our own schedule is also influential. The draw back is that you work 3 times harder in your own business than you ever would for someone else. Also, you will spend far more time functioning in your own company than you would for somebody else. The biggest difficulty is the overhead. We pay $4000.00 a month in expenses. This means that we have to earn much more than that in order to be in profit. If you have a stay at home business you will exclude the overhead expenses which will increase your profit margins.
