Hereditary Diseases Human Genome And Hereditary Diseases

I was reading the Time Magazine featured articled on hereditary diseases and it reminded me of the 1997 science fiction movie Gattaca. In 2003 the Human Genome Project was completed and the power to determine hereditary diseases was born. Although this is an important scientific breakthrough and this is genuinely pretty astonishing, it is an unfortunate idea to start charting everyone's hereditary diseases. I will explain why.

Identifying Hereditary Diseases; Science Fictions Meets Fact

The movie Gattaca takes place in the not so distant future. In this future the human genome project was also completed and the foundation of society was positioned on genetic testing. All babies were tested for hereditary diseases as well as other genetic knowledge and this information was used to arrange them in life. For instance if a child's genetic information said that he was going to be seven feet tall with no hereditary diseases, from childhood he would recieve an NBA contract and they would pay and tailor his life to be the perfect professional basket ball player. On the flipside, if a person had no conclusive "gifts" and was predisposed the hereditary diseases he or she would have less fortune. Even to get a job you had to give a blood sample as your resume.

As uncanny as this may seem, we are actually on the course for this type of reality. The human genome project was a 2.7 billion dollar project. To get the testing finished it used to be very unreasonable but the price continues to drop. Currently it costs $7,500 for an entire profile test which measures hereditary diseases and more. This price is steadily declining and it is predicted that at some point it will be as simple as buying a pregnancy test. With the ascension of technology, corporations want to be aware as much about their employees as attainable in order to maximize potential sales. Many employers as well as real estate renters are now performing credit checks. In many cases, if you have poor credit you cannot acquire a job or attain a place to live! It is not far fetched for an employee to do a genetic test to see if you are physically correct for the position.

Hereditary Diseases: The Problem With Testing

It is understandable if a baby or child is very ill and they can't find any answers that they might turn to hereditary diseases and other imbalances with their genes but it is a very reckless and a serious thing to do if they start testing everybody.

The medical industry is always searching for somebody or something to accuse when it comes to medical problems. The medical industry seldomly forces people to accept responsibility for their own health and actions.

They blame it on your parents (Hereditary Diseases)

They blame it on your genes.

They will even blame it on your gender or your race.

Most cancers are self induced but the medical industry does not recognize that. They will perform procedures that put the cancer in remission but rarely educate their patients to alter the lifestyle of behavior that caused it in the first place. This leads to the cancer returning. A person that is predisposed to cancer can live a healthy holistic lifestyle and NEVER grow cancer, even if it runs in the family or not.

Genetic testing for gene disorders and hereditary diseases will enforce an already flawed medical approach to health and it will cripple the personal development of people and formulate a new "class" system.

A person with perfect genes can live a toxic way of life and rarely have perfect health; they also never reach their fullest potential in life.

A person could damaged genes, showing signs of hereditary diseases and they can live a holistic healthy way of life and have great health and go on to do fascinating things in life. Everyone develops differently and by doing genetic testing on people for no justification only benefits major corporations.

The most current example of this is Sharon Osbourne, she had both her breast removed on account of she has the "cancer gene". She had her breast removed for prevention. Her medical team never thought to teach her to juice fresh fruits and vegetables everyday and to consume a plant based diet or to detox regularly and keep the body alkaline?

NO!

There is no economic advantage from that!

Imagine a world with this technology unleashed?

It would be unpleasant.

Your future is not determined by a gene or hereditary diseases. As we progress into a frightening chapter of history, don't lose site of the management you have over your own health. Stay Healthy!
