With almost 7 and a half years of TV airing, Bleach is one of the long running and most popular anime series of all time. No wonder, even Bleach filler list had acquired the attention of Otaku fans on the web.

"Bleach" focuses on the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, an orange-haired senior high school who turns into a Soul Reaper.

This animated series is telecast in various countries including USA, Canada, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Apart from airing on television, it also sells swiftly on DVD and influenced the gaming community to make games with similar title.

But who's the man behind its success?

Noriaki Kubo, who's also known as Tite Kubo, is the creator behind this popular manga series. The success of this fantasy-adventure manga series sold more than 40 million books in Japan and reaches the sales charts in the United States.

Kubo was amazed with the success of his creation. As outlined by his interview in the Shonen Jump Magazine (US), he never thought to become a comic book artist. "It had been never my purpose to make a manga series. Initially, I was interested with architecture and design, but i merely planned to become an anime artist."

Yet, his interests change when he saw the manga Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro by Shigaru Mizuki. "I have always cherished the yokai (monsters) within that anime series. "I also like the yokai (monsters) within that anime series. The characters within that anime series were armed and have outstanding weapons."

Due to the above-mentioned anime, he was inspired to create Bleach. "At first, I was thinking of creating Soul Reapers who wears kimono in my story. When i designed Rukia, she was not wearing kimono, nonetheless, i decided to create something which no one has seen before. From there, I made the world of Bleach."

According to Kubo, the development of Bleach started with the characters, not the plot. He also admitted that Bleach Captains didn't actually exist in the original plot of the story and the personalities of every character were not planned. It just happens as time goes by. He even confessed that the battle scenes aren't an easy task to make so, he just throw some jokes throughout the fights to make it more fun.

His hard work pays off when Otaku fans accepted Bleach for more than 7 years.

For Otaku fans and ambitious comic artists, Kubo shared an advice. "Just have confidence in your abilities. Maybe other people will condemn -- but have confidence on it. It is very important for readers to have your creation, so you should do something enjoyable. Otherwise, it's dishonest to charge people for something you don't enjoy."
