African Mythology: Greatest Story Ever Told

It's bad but the sad truth is that African Mythology is never exhibited to people on a large mainstream scale. It is as if it doesn't exist; but it does. African culture is the originator of passing down history in the forms of mythological stories. African mythology is infused with history, spirituality, science and many other substantial facts that are told in an epic story. Let's take Shaka Zulu for instance (the only African Mythology story told through mainstream that I have heard of). This was an whopping African Mythology story told from an African view. Whether the story was embellished or not is a matter of apprehension, however; you will get a great viewpoint of African spirituality, culture and history of that particular time.

African Mythology: Shades Of Memnom I had the enjoyment of reading Shades of Memnom by Gregory L. Walker over the past two days; this book was the personification of African Mythology. Gregory Walker has studied; anthropology, history, metaphysics, ancient cultures and African religions for 20 years while this book was in the making. He in fact had me on the edge of my seat the entire time as if I was watching a Summer block buster movie.

Shades of Memnon was an incredible epic tale of African Mythology at it's finest. Everyone knows about the Trojan war but the story that was left out was the tale of Memnon; the third book of the Trojan war. He was historically referenced as the best hero to have ever lived, more so than the great Achilles; this was stated by the Greeks. He was from the Ancient Egyptian (Kemetic) Kush nation and he was African; a black man.

African Mythology: Shades Of Memnom I had this book sitting on my Nook for the longest. For the past 10 months I have solely been reading self improvement books on finances, business and marketing. Along comes Hurricane Sandy; it hit New Jersey the hardest. We have been without power for 4 days now. Luckily my parent's electricity was only down for a short while so I brought my family here so we could have some heat.

Since most of the roads were blocked, no power at the office, no gas at the gas station I decided to escape through the pages of Brother J's master piece.

I have rarely read a book that absolutely had my heart pounding and adrenaline rushing as I distinctly imagined the words on the page scene by scene. as much as I want to tell you about certain parts of the book I don't want to spoil anything for you.

This book is great for all adults and teenagers but in particular African American adults and teenagers because we seldomly get to hear our stories told in classic epic heroic proportions. The best of African Mythology! Once you start reading this book you will not be able to put it down.
