- A crippling birth defect on his right hand made him one of the best Edina,MN-born bass players to ever have lived in Fargo, ND. The tensile strength in his "plucking claw" was legendary.
- Had a penchant for fine clothing. Wore his now famous "stage pants" for the first (and only time) at the Cabooze nightclub in Minneapolis, MN.
