Perhaps the most important factor in handling your own stress is to make 'you' time. This time is for doing something that makes you happy, feel more complete and gives you a bit of time to indulge in something that you may have felt like you never had the time for in the first place, so it will make you feel happier in no time.

Use lists for remembering things instead of depending only on your memory to give yourself a little bit of a break throughout the day. When we are overwhelmed with stress it's harder to remember everything we need to take care of, so prepare for all that your day holds by making a list. Not only will the lack of having to recall details spare you stress but it will save you time as well!

Try reading a book to relieve some of your pent up stress. Losing yourself in another world, perhaps one of fantasy or sci-fi or a romance, can be a great way for your mind to go on autopilot for a bit. You'll be able to focus on the world inside the book, rather than whatever is stressing you out.

If you live a high-stress life, you should do your best to avoid anything with caffeine in it. The caffeine is going to increase the anxiety levels that you are experiencing during those high-stress moments. Try to replace your coffee with green tea. It has calming agents and will help you regain your composure.

If something is making you feel anxious and stressed, take a minute to stop and think about things. Is this something that will matter to you in a year? A month? Even a day? Many times the answer is no. If you realize the level of important that this particular thought or action has, you can often reduce the stress level associated with it.

Stress is a natural part of our lives. How stress affects our ability to interact with the world, however, can be anything but positive. One way to reduce your body's negative reactions to stress is to make sure you get an adequate amount of sleep. When we are tired, stress has a greater potential to impact us in negative ways. Minimize the impacts of a potentially stressful day by getting an adequate night's sleep the night before.

Hopefully, by reading these tips, you have learned a few methods that you can use, in order to cut back on the stress in your life. Depending on how much stress you're dealing with, this could be easy or it could be difficult. Regardless, these tips will help, as long as you stick to them and work to get rid of that stress.
