Excited About Your New Business?

If you're like me, you were extremely excited about your new business opportunity. Every new entrepreneur is. It's as if your boring life has been reawakened by a new possibility of instant cash flow.

The first thing you do is make that list of 100 friends and family members that you think will be just as excited as you. You buy a bunch of training dvds. You buy loads of brochures, flyers, and handouts.

You run through your cell phone minutes calling all of your friends and family. Burn up gallons of gas driving to meet up with people to show them your business presentation.

Every time you turn around your brain is churning out even more people to add to your "100 people" list. You're spreading the word about your products and services like crazy.

Then you sit back 2 weeks from your startup date and you're wondering why no one wants to join you in your new business venture. Why no one is as excited as you are about your new project. Why no one is as open-minded as you are about this new money making system.

Well, your excitement could be the problem.

Ask yourself, "Are people used to seeing me excited about things?"

If the answer is no, your excitement could be a turn off for your prospects.

Being too excited could be costing you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.

It's time to learn how to control your excitement NOW.

Before each and every call you make, take 2 short minutes to follow these 3 simple, yet effective strategies to successfully control your excitement during your prospecting call.

Strategy #1 - Think about your own personality

If you have a laid-back personality like I do, people can receive your excitement in one of two ways. They will think you're being an absolute weirdo and you might even scare them a bit. Or they will think that your newfound excitement means that your new opportunity must be a gold mine since you rarely get excited about anything.

By keeping your excitement consistent with your "normal" personality your prospect will be more receptive to your message.

Strategy #2 - Think about your prospect's personality

Does the person sitting on the other side of the phone have a happy-go-lucky personality, or do they have a more mellow personality?

If they are happy-go-lucky, then your excitement may get them excited as well.

If they have a mellow personality, then your excitement will irritate them and make them feel as though your call is just a sales call and not an opportunity that can actually help them. And you're just going to be another weirdo to them.

Trust me. When extremely excited people are in my vicinity, it almost makes me gag.

Tailoring your "normal" personality to meet that of your prospect will cause your prospect to be much more receptive to engaging in conversation about your opportunity, your products, and your services that you offer.

Strategy #3 - Remember the "next best thing" is just around the corner

I know you're excited about your new business venture because you think it's the "next best thing" or it's the company with the hottest compensation plan, but the "my company is the absolute best company" and the "my products and services are better than yours" mindset is exactly what is going to make your prospects say NO.

New MLM and network marketing companies emerge every single day. There is absolutely no way that you have the knowledge about each and every company to actually know that your company has the best compensation plan or that your products and services are better than any other company.

Through diligent research you may find out that it's better than some. But you DON'T know it's better than all.

People hear about the "next best thing" every single day. This new cable company has the best new channel packages for a lower price than their leading competitors. This new cleaning product kills more bacteria and viruses than their leading competitors. This new health product will help you burn more fat than comparable products.

We see these types of advertisements pitching new products and services every single day.

Remember, when you're excited, you pitch

I've already schooled you on the dangers of pitching to your friends and family.

So calm down. Control your excitement. And watch your conversion numbers SKY ROCKET.
