Imperion was a symphonic black metal band formed in early 2011 through the interest of Fargo’s Matt “Damnator” Bellmore and his brother Jared Uggerud (Stormlight).

The band split up autumn of 2013 when Matt moved to Arizona to pursue a career in respiratory therapy after graduating college.

Highlights

Matt and Jared conducted a search for a vocalist soon after forming, tapping Justin Harris (formerly of Descension) to fulfill the role.

The group recorded songs and continued writing to create a solid base of original music while continuing to search for members. Eventually local drummer Matt Johnson (Gorgatron) was recruited while locking down a space to begin rehearsals. Dan Volesky (formerly of Descension) was added soon to fill the vacant lead guitar spot.

In the summer of 2012, after a few more line-up shakeups—with Matt Johnson returning to Gorgatron, and Dan deciding to part ways—Adam Cribb stepped in to hammer the skins, and Adam Carico (yes, at one point there were two Adam C’s in the band), formerly of Catharsis and Harsh Illusion, was tapped to fill the once-more vacant guitar spot.

At the end of 2012, Imperion played its final show with Justin at Gio’s Event Center, who decided to part ways with the band to pursue his future endeavors in the sunnier climes of Las Vegas. Nick Stensrud was asked to step in as vocalist soon after.

In the early months of 2013, Chris Lundquist was recruited on drums after the departure of Adam Cribb.

The band released its debut EP, Endless Winter Aeon in May of 2013, which was recorded by Adam (Carico) and Matt, and produced and mixed by Adam (Carico).
