San Francisco played host to Apps World North America 2013 two weeks ago, a show focused on the mobile technology world. The conference combined a wide range of mobile related tech talks, panels, discussions, presentations and exhibitors from mobile middleware companies, to app development shops to mobile monetization platforms - and, of course, ShinobiControls where we debuted ShinobiEssentials!

Not content with just exhibiting, ShinobiControls' very own Colin Eberhardt took part in a panel discussion titled "Developing for the enterprise app market". It was a really interesting discussion and as you can see, Colin made sure to cut through the jargon to make his points clear. A number of people visited our stand following the panel to find out more, so he must have made a good impression!

We love going to these events because it gives us a chance, not only to get our brand out there, but also to meet real people with real needs and find out what they are doing. The bottom line is that software is about solving problems and making things easier and that's what we're in the business of doing at ShinobiControls so it's crucial for us to understand what problems need solving! Of course, it's also a great feeling when people come up to the stand and "Oooh" and "Ahhh" at our demonstration apps, like ShinobiPlay!

The show was a great success for us because it allowed us to connect with so many of you and find out how to improve our offering. For me there were two big take home messages:

The HTML5 bubble is starting to burst. I spoke to a lot of people who were lamenting the failure of HTML5 to deliver on its promise (Facebook isn't the only one, that's for sure). It simply still enforces too many compromises in a lot of situations and the developer experience is too immature. Don't get me wrong, there are scenarios and use cases where HTML5 makes sense, but it's not the silver bullet everyone was hoping for. For now, if you want to give your users the very best experience, go native - that seemed to be the take home message, and one which I for one fully endorse!
Android is very much shifting into the field of vision of the enterprise. While iOS still dominates the market share in the enterprise environment (i.e. tablets) the growth of Android is not going unnoticed and lots of developers are starting to think about deploying to both platforms. I guess it's a good thing we're already looking in that direction, huh?

Not long thereafter the Hinrichsen Foundation was established as its beneficial shareholder, with the purpose of distributing its profits in the form of grants to qualifying individuals and musical organizations. The firm has played a significant role in the constant renewal of the edition while maintaining a commitment to the publishing of contemporary music.

In 1939 Geheimrat Dr. Henri Hinrichsen and Dr. Hans-Joachim Hinrichsen were forced to yield to the Nazi Regime and the Leipzig company was confiscated and administered by the so-called Trustee of Jewish Property. Following his appointment as U.S. Music Officer for the American Zone in Germany from 1945 through 1947, Walter Hinrichsen founded C.F. Peters Corporation in New York in 1948. Owing to the atmosphere of uncertainty in Germany, he set about reprinting the main works in Edition Peters, followed shortly afterwards by the publication of contemporary U.S. composers, many of them today ranking among the most prominent. Within the American music publishing field, he achieved legendary status for his unstinting support of his composers and his tireless efforts to generate enthusiasm for their works. Simultaneously Max Hinrichsen was republishing Edition Peters in London. This subsequently caused a famous case in the English High Court that confirmed the inheritance of Edition Peters by the surviving Hinrichsen heirs. C.F. Peters Corporation, New York, remains one of the premiere publishing houses of America with an unrivalled history of involvement in and support for American contemporary music.

In 1950 the two brothers formed a partnership with Dr. Johannes Petschull (1901-2001), who had since reached the west, and established a West German Peters company in Frankfurt.
