A band made up of 4 talented musicians with very different musical background & interests that created a unique sound not like any other band in the F/M area at the time. They were a blend of alternative, jazz, & metal with fun light-hearted lyrics.

Even though they were well known in the F/M area, due to their uniqueness, they did not fit in with all the popular "hard, heavy, & loud" band during that music scene era. They were outcasts and thus tended to be forced to stick to gigs in coffee shops and the such.

The Grape Garage was some type of industrial warehouse-turned-venue, on the I-29 Frontage road near Perkins in Fargo and painted purple. The venue existed 1995-1996 and held many good shows, despite everything. [[Bjorn Christianson]] and Team Fargo put on many shows at the Grape Garage.

Bjorn Christianson

*Bjorn was an avid show promoter that always paid the bands as well as possible, and often took losses on many of his shows. The promotion group 'Team Fargo' was ran by Bjorn and his then-girlfriend Amy Hendrickson from 1995 - 1996 or 1997. Team Fargo put on many good local shows and brought in a lot of touring bands. Bjorn also put on the Fugazi Moose Lodge show of 1992 or 1993, I can't remember. Bjorn lives in Minneapolis and probably is involved with design somehow.

Age of Consent was created as a fill-in band for a show in Grand Forks with Mothmus, Orange 17 was supposed to play but could not. Instead Mark Schumacher from Kitty Porn and Joe Vesel decided to play the show anyway, and started to ask around for a guitar player the day of the show. Finally finding Robin Garland available (although I seem to remember he broke a movie date with his then-girlfriend Steph), they drove up to Grand Forks and wrote a few songs in the car on the way up. What started as a joke actually became somewhat fun, and with a few practices and adopting Guy Nelson for vocals and Jimmy Uhlir/Aaron Pedersen for some keyboard work, they played a few shows in the next year.

*7 oâ€™clock Sucker debuted in the spring of 1994, opening for Minneapolis based Arcwelder and Gods Favorite Band at the old Elks Lodge on First Avenue. Allegedly named after a never attempted home brew, the band began as five piece with members hailing from Milnor, Dickinson, and Minot, North Dakota. Troy and his obsequious baseball cap were dropped after their first public appearance (the band had played several shows in their basement, aka the 700 Club), and 7 oâ€™clock Sucker continued as a three piece for 3-4 years before disbanding with a self released seven-inch.

Marked by an energetically charismatic stage presence, 7 oâ€™clock Sucker played pop punk similar to Jawbreaker and Face to Face; later, their style of music evolved into a more hardcore sound, reflective of their changing influences.

7 oâ€™clock Sucker played countless basement shows and the members were quietly responsible for introducing Fargo/Moorhead to numerous bands that were under the radar of the stereotypical F/M scenester; the height of the 700 Club included: Propagandhi, Defiance, The Pist, and Schlong, among others.

Silly punk rockers from Moorhead. They were the only band that learned their Madonna covers when [[Phil Leitch]] first tried to organize Madonnarama in the mid 90s. They acted goofy, sang songs about grocery stores and getting free pizza from [[Sarah Hassel]], made absurd zines (ChickenX, Trans Zine, White Crane Beggar, etc.) and had a lot of fun. For some reason, they really amused Nine Pound Hammer and [[Hammerhead]].
