This was compounded by the fact that the lead singer was a self-righteous loudmouth.  They moved to Chicago in 1999 and quickly disbanded when Todd Ruzicka left the group.&lt;br /&gt;

I remember seeing them at Coffee Club a number of times and they did covers. I remember them covering Beastie boys &amp;quot;Sabotage&amp;quot;, but they mostly did grungy items like Pearl Jam. I remember them maybe covering Tool. I remember the singers name was Joel and Derek Wilde was in a band called Girls On Film that played strictly at a couple Moorhead High School events (Twigstock) with one of the guys that was in Gecko. They also had a sticker that me and Kris Delaney used to make fun of that said Gecko PAIN and thats it. -Preston&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;Necktie Suicide started out of the ashes of two prominent bands in the Fargo, ND area; Jared (guitar) and Justin (drums) Norris from  [[Blood Dries Black]] and Andy Hanson (bass), Steve Smedshammer (guitar) and Jarret Vosler (vocals) from [[Invividly]]. &lt;br /&gt;
After playing only a few shows together, Jarret lost interest in the band, forcing the other members to make a change. Without a vocalist, the band embarked on a short tour where the other members started to let their voices be heard. &lt;br /&gt;
Andy, Jared and Steve picked up the vocal duties. After playing over a hundred local and regional shows in a year and a half, the band felt the need for another change. They recruited A.J Anderson to take over on lead vocals.&lt;br /&gt;
